MyTime
MyTime is for parents and carers of children with a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition. It’s a place for you to unwind and talk about your experiences. It’s a world away from appointments and therapy.
MyTime groups are a supportive space for parents to feel understood and share ideas about managing a range of situations. A MyTime group is more than a playgroup, it’s a place where parents can meet others in similar situations. MyTime members also have access to information and resources though the group facilitator and members get to plan the group sessions around their specific needs as carers.
Both our Child & Parent Centres in Collie Valley and Carey Park run MyTime sessions each term. Jump on their websites or Facebook pages to find out when they are running.
MyTime at Child & Parent Centre Collie Valley includes a light lunch and the group pre-plan the itinerary of what they want to do at each term. We often have representatives from Wanslea and APM NDIS attend the group so that members can have their questions answered about NDIS funding. We regularly do a variety of craft activities, coffee and chat sessions and parenting programs. Each term is different and the main aim of the group is to provide a place for parents to share experiences with other families and relax. We have a play helper in the room to provide fun play experiences for children birth to 6 years that attends. We have a lovely group and always happy to welcome new faces.
